Cargo Now Supports ERC-1155 Token Sales

Today we are thrilled to announce that Cargo — the all in one NFT marketplace, showcase and minting platform — will support ERC-1155 token sales via the Cargo JS SDK from day one. This expands Cargo’s existing service beyond scalable infrastructure supporting only ERC-721 tokens. Now Cargo can support innovative projects that use the ERC-1155 token standard by providing a white-label solution that enables innovators to create custom reseller marketplaces within their own platforms.

Currently live on the Rinkeby test network Cargo is set to launch on the main Ethereum network at the end of this month. The Cargo JS library was built to make it easy for developers, and businesses to integrate the full suite of Cargo’s scalable, NFT infrastructure within their own platform. With just a few lines of code you can run an entire digital collectible marketplace. The ERC-1155 support is one of many new features Cargo plans to release in the coming months. Recently Cargo also announced an integration with Chainlink — using their VRF technology to support loot boxes and NFT distribution powered by randomness.

We are excited to bring ERC-1155 support to the community and feel like the standard has many use cases where it would be a valuable choice for a platform, or blockchain game to use. The ERC-1155 standard was created in part due to perceived limitations of the ERC-721 standard, but Cargo solved those problems by bringing mass minting technology to ERC-721 tokens by including the ERC-2309 extension — currently in draft status. With Cargo’s ERC-721 + ERC-2309 smart contracts, developers can create a nearly infinite (2²⁵⁵) amount of NFTs in a single transaction.
